I would agree that the current iPad does not truly work as a classroom tool. There is not even a printing ability imbedded in its architecture. One has to install a 3rd party app for that. While we have gotten used to not having CD Rom drives in our netbooks, the iPad also doesn’t offer a USB port for thumb drives or other data mobility. The following features would be great in future devices whether they be netbooks or iPads: The ability to download, view and print ISBN textbooks; accompanied an app that allowed one to highlight text and then search, compile, and display highlights later, as well as scribble notes in the margins of the electronic books. Throw 6 books on the device, and throw the backpack away. Or at least downsize!
